Working out is tough! We’ll be the first to admit it. You’re putting your body through challenging movements, testing your limits, and perhaps the most shocking, working out is just as demanding mentally as it is physically. But the benefits are endless and will translate to your home life, work life, and even your social life.

If you’re reading this, you’re likely an awesome person who has a long list of fitness goals. You want to have the energy to keep up with your kids, you want to look good at the pool, and maybe sign up for that half marathon next year. We’re here to help you reach those goals, so we’re going to tackle some of the most common fitness dilemmas and help you conquer those pesky roadblocks.

Common fitness dilemma #1

I’ve been working out for 2 weeks (or more) and I’m not seeing results. What’s wrong with me?

Working out is a process. A 6-pack isn’t created in one week, even if the Instagram model promises crazy fast results. Here are some tips to keep you on track and encouraged during your fitness journey:

Schedule your workouts as a priority

It’s really easy to push your workouts to the side, and before you know it, it’s been two weeks and you haven’t been to the gym once. Just like the other valuable things in your life, if it’s important to you, you’ll make it happen. At times, fitness doesn’t feel important. But your health and wellness is worth the investment!

Be intentional

This can mean a couple of things: be intentional with your time and be intentional with your body. If you only have 30 minutes to work out, no problem! But don’t get distracted by talking for 15 of those 30 minutes. While you’re working out, focus on engaging the right muscles at the right time. This intentionality will help your get the most bang out of your workout.

Get an accountability partner or a trainer

It’s harder to talk your way out of not going to the gym when there’s someone counting on you to be there.

Now get after it! Write your goals down, celebrate when you check them off your list, and live your best life.
